FriscoHisFrisco H.I.S. began in 1995 when a handful of friends began meeting together in an upstairs room of The Abbey Cafe in Frisco, TX. They had all chosen to educate their children at home, and desired to meet together for encouragement, fellowship, and to share ideas.
Frisco H.I.S. was founded upon a distinctively Christian worldview, even though the members of the group represent many different churches. Membership was open to all home educators, regardless of their background or religious beliefs and the support group serves all members equally.
They desired to provide opportunities for fellowship and dialogue among home schooling families and those interested in learning more about home schooling in the following ways:
1. By offering moral support 2. By supplying and exchanging resource and curriculum ideas 3. By planning field trips, group activities and community service opportunities which enrich our children's education 4. By maintaining a network that communicates information about our group's activities and about political and legal issues (specific to home schooling)
